At present, with the implementation of the national freeway network, the freeway construction has turned to the mountainous areas. Larger and longer longitudinal gradient or composite gradient has to be employed in the mountainous areas. But from have already set up the freeway circumstance to see, the continuous Long and Steep Downgrade has produced the serious influence to the truck safety. The domestic is already initial to know that it endangers the transportation safety, and adopted the a series of safe measure that correspond to ease the bane degree of the trouble.The paper according to actual circumstance of the freeway of the mountain area, and the transportation circulates the present condition in the continuous Long and Steep Downgrade, based on great amount of field data and aimed at the present traffic circulation situation of the specific upgrades, statistics with the mathematics, number analysis, and the theories analysis combine together, the paper studied the regularity of free flow speed. First, the paper analyzes the variety regulation of the operating speed of the freeway Long and Steep Downgrade of the mountain area and the brake of the vehicle .Based on the regulation of the brake to drive , we maked the on-the-spot experiment of the brake temperature in the freeway. we select the carriey heavy 10 tons of truck and suppose pical truck. Under the combination of different average vertical slope and length, and nder the most disadvantageous circumstance, namely no assistance to brake, it keep the same speed, We measure the brake temperature of the typical truck. Applied automobile dynamics principle,we study the changing regulation of brake temperature with the variety vertical slope, and draw the function curve of brake in the different slope, length and operating speed, and establish the brake temperature model. Based on the foundation for these studies, we suggest a series of value of the length and slope in the down slpoe for freeway.Based on the foundation of study, We build up the standard of the safety guarantee grade. And make sure each grade to guarantee the measure the safety that need to be adopt in the basis of the safety guarantee grade.
