Storage batteries are the crucial components of the electric vehicle which affect the performances of the whole vehicle. Their performances influence the dynamic characteristics and the driving range of the vehicle directly. In order to research and analyze the charging and discharging characteristics of the storage batteries of various electric vehicles in practice in the laboratory, reduce research cost, shorten research time, simplify research processes, improve analysis precision, a suit of storage batteries test analysis device called the analyzing test-bed for the performances of the storage batteries of the electric vehicles is developed.The system used thyristor-control modules and IGBT modules as the main structure of the charging and discharging circuits. It designed the interface circuits of the multifunction acquisition-card and the protection circuits of the IGBT driver. It realized charging under high voltage, fast charging under low voltage and constant current discharging. The system could charge and discharge automatically or step by step manually. Under the Windows98 system, a set of visualized and intellectualized system application software was developed. Eventually, a method of the routine maintenance of the system and fault precaution was provided.The test-bed accomplished continual, adjustable and intelligent charging under high voltage ranging from 100V to 300V or current from 0A to 30A, adjustable charging under low voltage from 0V to 30V, adjustable charging under current from 0A to 100A, constant current charging and pulse fast charging and so on. It also simulated the discharging course of the storage batteries when electric vehicles worked in different statuses and finished discharging from 0A to 100A precisely. In addition, it could record the voltage parameters, current parameters, temperature parameters etc. and draw real-time curve graph. Through specific test, all sorts of targets had met the demand of design. Eventually, the system could use software or hardware to deal with emergencies such as giving an alarm for abnormity, power-off, stopping charging and stopping discharging and so on.The experiments show that the development of the test-bed is advanced. Its progress mainly perform in the following ways: incorporating charging and discharging , discharging under heavy current and obtaining various parameters of the normal charging and fast charging .The test-bed runs stably, securely, reliably and possesses very good research value and use perspective.
