With the rapid development of our automobile industry and traffic utility, the amount of using motor vehicles in our country has been increasing sharply in recent years. However, the supervening problem of the traffic noise pollution has become a big trouble that hazes the citizens and affects their health and working efficiency. More and more rigorous law on limiting the vehicle noise is enacted all over the world. The exhaust noise is the main source of the vehicle noise and it has been getting louder and louder as rotational speed and consolidation of the I .C. engines increases, so that we must pay much attention to the accomplished fact. The most effective way to control the exhaust noise is to install exhaust muffler. But the installation of the exhaust muffler will increase the exhaust resistance and influence power and economic utility of the engine, which runs against the energy conservation policy and the sustainable development strategy. Therefore, this paper focuses on the research of the property prediction of the exhaust muffler and its design optimization.This issue using transfer matrix method, application of acoustic properties of one-dimensional simulation software GT-POWER, paragraph of a new small passenger car exhaust emission system for numerical simulation analysis. The establishment of the exhaust muffler and the engine of the one-dimensional joint model, here to solve the exhaust system model and related issues such as parameter settings. Through numerical simulation has been the muffler exhaust muffler volume, transmission losses, pressure losses, exhaust backpressure, such as parameters, will be calculated on the results of simulation of the development of noise reduction as the basis for improving the program. Because the model structure have been identified and can not make changes to its measures, Only through the exhaust muffler to optimize the structure of the vehicle to achieve the purpose of noise reduction. Through numerical simulation and experimental validation of the program developed by the rationality and validity of judgments, based on numerical simulation results and test the vehicle to accelerate the noise of the test data can be the muffler exhaust muffler effectively optimize performance. Noise test the vehicle to speed up test results and numerical simulation results have good consistency, that the use of acoustic properties of one-dimensional simulation software GT-POWER for vehicle exhaust noise reduction system optimization project has a positive value. Good solution on how to carry out the wrong vehicle changes the premise of effective noise reduction.The simulation of a muffler involved in hydrokinetics, structural dynamics and acoustics, so noise reduction is the best way to design from the early stages of vehicle noise optimization of synchronous design. Muffler exhaust muffler of the effect of a direct impact on vehicle exhaust systems and even the noise situation, this paper gives some guidelines on the optimized design of an exhaust muffler of a saloon car for noise control and back pressure reduction.
