| Exhaust noise is one of the major source of automobile noise pollution. Under theincreasingly strict regulations on noise pollution, noise control exhaust system has attractedmore and more attention. The most effective control method is to install the exhaust muffleron the exhaust system. Therefore, the design of the muffler with high performance and lowresistance loss has become an important issue to control exhaust noise.In this paper, some transfer matrixes of basic muffling elements were obtained. The fourterminal network method. And the mathematical model of the muffler elements wereestablished to calculate its acousti performancevarious parameters on the noise attenuationeffect were analysised. On the premise of the basic knowledge of the exhaust system muffle,the engine model was built by using the GT-Power software and a two-dimensional model ofthe muffler was built by using the Muffler software. Then discrete it and transformed it into*. dat file, import it into GT-ISE to generate communication network.The muffling effect of muffler model was evaluated from the transmission loss andpressure loss and. its muffling frequency characteristic curve were obtained. Based on it, themodel of optimization design of muffler was established by setting the target function and themuffler structure parameters were optimized. The aerodynamic properties, low frequency andhigh frequency noise characteristic of the exhaust system were Significantly improved withthe Optimization of parameters. The expected target has been reached.By using this method, only was the complex engineering test avoided and was the testperiod shortened, but also the development cost was reduced. The method has an importantguiding significance to improve the muffler design and analysis level. |
