The aerial work platform is an important branch of construction machinery, its characteristics is the great height of work place, so it requires high safety. Geting the support of the Aerial Work Platform Development Cooperative Project of Yanshan University and Qinhuangdao Tolian Heavy industry Co., Ltd,the paper discusses its Safety and the Reliability.Designs a new overturn-preventing and automatic alarm system for improving the security of the aerial work platform; puts forward two feasible design schemes of anti-collision devices which have different configuration; the electro-hydraulic proportional technology is applied to the work platform level system for ameliorating the level performance.Introduces the CAN-BUS's application in the electric control system of the aerial work platform, analyze the influence on the fault diagnosis after its application, through the analysis and research of the practical fault which occurred in the debugging, creates the fault tree of the electric control system which is based on the CAN-BUS.Researches the reliability of the aerial work platform's hydraulic system by using the fuzzy fault tree analysis method, creates the fault tree of the level system, confirm the probability of the bottom events by adopting the L-R fuzzy number of the Normal function, provides evidence for maintaining the aerial work platform's hydraulic system when we were designing, producing and using it.Optimize the electro-hydraulic system of aerial work platform for improving the handling stability and reducing the energy consumption, adopts a new type screw-in cartridge valve, improves work efficiency, and reduces time of fault detection and maintenance.
