Harmonic gear driving mostly depends on the flexible deformation of the flexspline. And it has so many unique advantages, such as big ratio of transmission, small capacity and weight, high drive accuracy, little return difference and so on. Though almost all fields involved harmonic gear driving has been studied in different degree by many domestic and foreign scholars, large numbers of base work are still required to do. Thus it is very significant to study harmonic gear drive. In this paper, the problems of meshing parameter optimization design of the zero-lateralspace involute harmonic gear driving and fatigue strength of flexspline have been studied. Using the finite element method, modal and force of flexspline are also analyzed in some degrees.Firstly, this paper discusses the widely application at home and abroad, researching trend and basic theory. Through the study of harmonic drive principle, establish the mathematical model with zero-lateralspace as the objective function, the Box Complex Method as optimization method, and constraints as meshing restriction, use Visual Basic as the compiling environment,complete the meshing parameter optimization.Secondly, the article analyzes the main inactivation form, and the force status in null load and full load, deduces the fatigue strength checking formulations of flexspline and the cylinder stability formula. Use the exact example of optimized meshing parameters to verify. Through the Matlab to get numerical analysis, the conclusion that length-diamenter ratio is the main aspect to effect the safety factor turns up.Finally, the paper discusses the basic theory of finite element method, and the basic steps to solve the problem by finite element method. According to the actual working conditions of flexspline, simplify some parts and use Pro/E to model, transfer into ANSYS, select the appropriate element type, and then mesh by free meshing. Thus a three-dimensional solid finite element model has been established. Based on vibration theory, add five order vibration to flexspline model to start modal analysis. After soveling,according to deformation and distortion of flexspline, assure that the model is acceptable and the continuity is in the process of load.And that the flexspline model in null load and full load are studied respectively, then the distributing rule of stress and displacement are gained.
