With the fast development of automation and computer technology, the demanding of the function of ship power and electric monitoring system is increasing greatly, for example, a better man-machine interface, a better real-time performance, a better security performance, a better accuracy of the simulation and the like. Visual Studio.net 2005, SQL Server 2005 and MATLAB 2008B will be used to cope with the simulation research and monitoring interface design of the marine power electric power system in this paper.The laboratory-build hybrid propulsion control unit is the prototype of the system used by this paper. This device is a experimental marine power system composed by a engine and three motors. Main task are as follows.1. Design of system interface. According to the demand of monitoring system, real-time monitoring interface, simulation control interface and user management interface are required to be designed in this system. There are 38 interfaces included. and each device has its own sub-interface flow chart of dynamic images. A lot of controls including the timer are used to realize all the function.2. Design of system database. First, define the data structure of the system. Second, according to the data structure, create the database of the system. At last ADO.NET is used to achieve the connection between the final interface and the database, in order to achieve functions of data access, alarm implementation and user management.3. System simulation and monitoring. Design a simple control algorithm in the established simulink model to optimize the control of the system. When the accurate simulation results are obtained, the data will be transferred to the interface using DDE technology. In addition, this paper describes two other methods with the system simulation. One is using M function to write the algorithm and transfer the simulation data using COM technology. The other is to write the algorithm in the Visual Studio.net programming environment.
