With the tend of large-size, continuous and high-speed,functions and structures of mechanical equipment become more and more complicated , and faults become harder to be diagnosed and to be repaired. Since structures of the online fault diagnosis systems are relatively closed, fault diagnosis and repair are constrained by manpower, technology and zone, and timeliness can be affected to some extent. Thus, the research on remote fault diagnosis system has caught up much more attention in the field of mechanical failure.In the paper, a network information platform for the gearbox remote fault diagnosis system is set up, and several fault diagnosis technologies, about the gearbox remote fault diagnosis system, are given out. Main contents are shown as follows:Firstly, the background of research on the network information platform of gearbox remote fault diagnosis system is introduced, and then the significance and contents are given out.Secondly, the type of faults and vibration mechanism of gearbox are depicted, the faults of gears and bearings are analyzed in detail, the fault signals were collected and faults of gears and bearings were simulated, which provide the basic information elements of fault technology for network information platform of remote fault diagnosis system.Thirdly, based on the requirement of network information platform, the general frame of network information system is designed, including the function design, topology structure design and information flow design of the software platform, and a total planning was given out.Then, several key technologies are studied, including the development technology of information platform software based on Web Database Service, the technology of using LabVIEW for programming, and the composite technology of LabVIEW/Data Socket and VB, which are used to read the fault signal files and show the signal in the browser. Thus, the key technology to develop remote fault diagnosis is accomplished by using LabSQL in the LabVIEW to call the database and read information of fault from database.Finally, the implementation methods of prototype system were given. The configuration of the system is described particularly. The flow chart, usage case diagram of information platform and the structure of the database are given. The development process, implementation, as well as the running interface of prototype system, were introduced in detailed.
