The development of modern industry makes the color measurement technology more and more widely used in the chemical industry, printing and dyeing, textile and other industries. The color-difference meter is one of a very important kind of measuring instruments in these areas. The study found that there are two common problems for the current color-difference meter: first, the majority use photo-electric integral design, which has a simple structure, but low accuracy; second is as generally there is only one standard geometry condition of illumination and observation for chosen, it can not get sample color information of different modes.For this reason, in-depth analysis and study of the basic theory of color science and primary color measurement methods, this paper presents a program which using CCD spectrometer as the spectroscopic probe components, and sequential illumination for a single-beam structure; It is compatible with two standard lighting conditions of 0/d:e and 45/0, also reflective observation samples measurement under the conditions of 0/d. The main work of the early research has been well completed.The system program comprises four main parts: optical system, mechanical structure, the hardware circuits and system software. For the optical system, with the halogen lamp as system luminance, Kohler illumination was used to provide uniform illumination; For the mechanical part, referring to the CIE standard lighting conditions, the calculation gives details of major components of the system parameters, as the reference for mechanical design; For the hardware circuit part, an radiation intensity monitoring of light source and rotating mirror position control system was designed with AT80C51 microcontroller chip as CPU, also the schematic diagram and PCB design was taken out to prove the feasibility of the circuit design; For the system software part, including the SCM software and the PC application software, SCM software is to achieve the occurrence and distribution of the stepper motor drive pulses, as well as the serial communication between MCU and PC. As to application software, which realized the spectrometer data communication with the USB interface, function modules for the system configuration, calibration, spectral data acquisition and processing, results display and document management were designed. The contents of hardware circuits and system software parts are the paper's main focus. The paper includes seven chapters. The first chapter describes the background of this project and the research development inland and abroad; the second chapter gives the related theoretical basis and basic methods for color measurement; the third chapter shows the overall design of the system, as well as the calibration scheme; the fourth chapter includes methods and results for optical system, mechanical structures and SCM system design; the fifth chapter describes the design ideas and concrete realization of each function modules of SCM system software and PC-application software; the sixth chapter shows the relevant data and results analysis obtained from validation experiments and the final one summarizes the whole paper and gives some proposals for the direction of future work.
