With the widely used of power electronic devices in the grid, power quality has being generally focused. Power Factor Correction (PFC) is one of the effective measure to improve the power quality from the load side. To enhance the power level of PFC circuit and to minish the volume of the converter have been widely researched recently. Based on the analysis of development of single phase power factor correction technique, a new interleaved continuous-current-mode Boost PFC converter has been researched in this paper. Compared with conventional Boost PFC circuit, interleaved application realizes AC/DC conversion through multiple converters, which can reduce switching stress, promote the power level of PFC converter and enlarge application area of PFC technique.There are five chapters in this papers.Firstly, after a brief introduction of research background and review of present PFC techniques, the research purpose and content are given. Secondly, focused on interleaved Boost PFC and conventional Boost PFC, The characteristic of these two topologies will be analyzed. The interleaving technique can alleviates the ripple current effectively and reduces inductor volume. The detailed calculation of each part power losses in PFC converter is given. The loss breakdown of two topologies is shown in the paper. Thirdly, based on the above work, a 400V/1200W-output prototype is designed. Experiment results provided prove the performance. The application of new power electronic devices in the PFC circuit is also evaluated.Through the study of this paper, the interleaved Boost PFC technology has made into practice. The circuit has a good effect on power factor correction and high power density. Through the comparison of CoolMOS, SiC diode with the conventional MOSFET, fast recovery diode, the application of these new devices on the power supply can improve its efficiency greatly.
