Opto-electronic hybrid joint transform correlator is to use optical computing and optical processing technology to replace part of the computing and processing. By optical methods related to Automatic Target Recognition and automatic targeting, both real-time, but also to achieve high precision of modern optical test in the field of cutting-edge technology, while optical systems are the core of the optical system directly affect the whole system of priority The performance (target detection and recognition accuracy).This paper reviews the history of the development of the zoom system and trends to explain the principles of the zoom system, classification and design method, and use Zemax optical design software to design a joint transform correlator applied to infrared target acquisition / tracking optical system. The joint transform correlator can detect and identify different targets at different distance ,and then keep the size of images continuously variable. System zoom range is 50mm~300mm,the zoom ratio is 6×, the length of lens barrel is 200mm,the system meets the 100% efficiency of cold aperture and can be reflected optical path twice, and then simulat zoom cam fitting curve applying software MATLAB. Finally,evaluated image quality and analyzed tolerance.
