| An Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is a closed-loop control system implemented in vehicles braking process to prevent the wheels from locking up. Nowadays it has been widely used in vehicles, however it was originally just designed for trains and airplanes. The performance of ABS is critical to vehicle's active safety during the braking process, then the detection and analysis of the performance of ABS has been becoming an important research and develop field in auto industrial. This paper mainly focuses on building a scientific method to simulate and analyze the ABS performance of the vehicle system. A research and development of ABS simulation system is found through simulating the process of ABS braking system, modeling some automobile parts which have specific functions in braking process and composing them together. This paper divides the braking process into four parts:vehicle dynamics model, brake actuator model, wheel dynamics model and road surface resistance model and model all of them in Matlab to simulate. Vehicle dynamics model is build from the application of PID control algorithm and the fact that the vehicle dynamics will be affected by the interaction force between tire and different road surface. Wheel dynamics model is established on the relationship between ground braking force and slip ratio referred by magic tire formula. Due to the different braking performance of a vehicle in different road surface, different road surface resistance models are established to figure out the perfect slip ratio in order to avoid the simulation results are far from the real values. According to the national standards, the process of overall simulation experiment is first to compare test results with the road test results, then to give a comprehensive evaluation according to standard braking performance detection method and its statistical parameters, in the end to discuss whether the ABS simulation system is feasible. This paper has reached the opening title design objectives, proposed and discussed in depth vehicle's ABS simulation and detection method. The experiments results show that this ABS performance simulation and detection method can truly reflect the car's braking situation. The method has been proved to be a scientific and reasonable detection way. And vehicle's parameters can be put into the ABS simulation model to test different automobile's ABS performance in different environment. It has features of efficient finance and convenient application which is significant for early stage development of ABS system. |
