Bridge grab bucket ship unloader is an important equipment for loading and unloading bulk cargo, which is mainly used in public docks, the original iron and steel manufacturers, fuel wharf, raw materials dock for power plant. Although bridge grab bucket ship unloader is disadvantaged in environmental protection, machine weight and efficiency, compared with continuous ship unloader, it has absolute advantage in the adaptability of materials and ships, the operating costs as well as bumps on the ship unloader vessel injury. With the rapid development of the port, large bulk cargo ships is much more popular. In order to continuously improve the efficiency of port cargo handling operations, grab cycle time are required strictly, as well as the operation speed and the control performance of the ship unloader.The main objective of this paper is solving the swing of the grab when grab ship unloader works; optimizing grab running path; minimizing the trolley route and flight discharge (ie, butt), to make the grab ship unloader have the highest efficiency. First, the kinematics theory of the grab ship unloader is used to simplify the overall structure; according to the structure of grab ship unloader and load cases, the mechanical grab ship unloader model and the dynamics equations are established. Second, through changing the speed and acceleration of the ship and wire rope as well as other parameters, the different influences on grab ship unloader stable operation are obtained. Finally, the model of grab ship unloader is established in ADAMS, and calculated when the parameter is 2500t/h. By adjusting relationship of the speed and wire rope, the move orbit which meet the anti-swing trajectory is obtained. The parameters of car and wire rope are given in order to be used in practical parameters setting. The analysis results which get from the similation and calculation have great application value, which could be directly used in practical engineering design and analysis.
