Characterized by coarse aggregate skeleton structure, large-stone porous asphalt mixture (LSPM) performs excellent in terms of the high temperature stability. LSPM now has been widely applied in high way, common trunk highway and road network reconstruction projects in Shandong province. Functioning as the base, due to the attribute as larger voids structure, LSPM shows outstanding drainage function. At the same time, in order to achieve the endurance of heavy traffic load, LSPM requires a higher viscosity binder which also has good performance in high temperature. Multi-grade asphalt cement is currently widely used in the Shandong province as a large-stone porous asphalt mixtures binder. With the technical and technologic development of modification technology and manufacture, Crumb Rubber Modified Asphalt which has high viscosity, lower price has begun to be widely promoted and applied. Focusing on the key characters of LSPM performance, through the systematic research of several different types of asphalt binder, in order to find out the one with optimal cost performance shall have its great significance.This paper starts by taking the comparative study as an approach to analyze the otherness among four different types of asphalt cements. At the same time, gradation designs of LSPM have been carried out. Afterward through the "Dynamic Modulus Test" and "Dynamic Triaxial Test" and other comparative studies the dynamic mechanical properties and shear strength of large-stone porous asphalt mixture at high-temperature have been evaluated; the corresponding dynamic modulus prediction model has also been established. Synthesized the outcomes of with performance, economic factors on the different cementing material in large-stone porous asphalt mixture characteristics and prospects of the application of argumentation analysis, studies show that, compared with base asphalt, Multi-grade asphalt cement has the advantage as the better high temperature performance.; compared with SBS modified asphalt, Multi-grade asphalt cement is more cost-effective. As a high-viscosity, low-cost products for large-size water-permeable asphalt mixture, rubber asphalt has good high temperature performance and application prospects.
