The demand for stone products is increasing. It presents multi-variety and small-batch trend. As the lack of combined machining technology support, conservative process scheme and equipment can't maximize the stone resources, on the contrary, it limits the efficiency gains and increases costs on a single production mode. Although many enterprises at home and abroad have been able to produce multi-functional combined machine center, but research and extension on combined machining technology and the key technologies are still insufficient. Systematic researched the combined machining technology on theoretical system construction, process feature modeling, process scheme optimization, modularized product family design, and the key parts matching performance.By analyzing the deficiency of traditional combined machining technology and the key technologies, determine the objectives, contents and key technologies for a system of combined machining technology on stone products. Represent the combined machining technology from the structure, function and implementation process; summarize the characteristics of the theoretical system from process and equipment; build the framework including supporting and main theory.Build the mathematical model based on shaped products machining, analyze the factors that influence process scheme, determine the most efficient, lowest cost and highest quality for principle on combined optimization of products machining scheme, structure the objective function composition by machining quality, machining types and machining chain length, propose constraints and give both a clear physical meaning. Look for the optimal solution set of process scheme through multi-objective genetic algorithm. Optimize process scheme by dealing with multiple targets in parallel; construct an evaluation system optimization for characteristics of stone industrial production. Meanwhile, study on technical route of optimizing process parameters and process route using genetic algorithms. Determine each objective function and its physical meaning. Apply process innovation on special shaped board, research efficiency curve of two-dimensional edge machining process, construct machining scheme that use sawing instead of milling.Study on the structure, features of stone machine at home and abroad. Analyze domestic market demand for stone products. Determine the scope of combined machining equipment product family function parameters. Develop several sets of combined machining equipment configurations by planning the equipment product family using modular technology and establish a foundation for the research of series products. Provide a theoretical reference for the research on series of combined machining equipment key parts selection, through designing transmission structure, researching servo motor inertia, the torque load calculation criteria and matching spindle speed power system. Analyze modal of the power system and provide parameters to test for the next step of machining.Propose a theory system of combined machining applying for the characteristics of domestic stone industry, based on the market demand. Study on the characteristics and regulation of production to achieve optimizing process and reducing energy consumption. This improving method comes from process planning and machining mechanism, which is the most fundamental development strategy to realize high efficiency and low cost production targets in the stone industry.The paper is supported by Science and Technology Development Planning of Shandong Province (2007GG10004008).
