The reactive power must be kept in balance in the power system. Otherwise it can make the system voltage drop. And more over, it will damage the equipment and make the system step out when it is very serious. In addition, the network of transmitting ability will drop and the dissipation will be increased if the power factor and voltage are dropped. It will guarantee electric energy quality and reduce dissipation if setting well the active power problem. The purpose of this thesis is on the basis of existing grid structure and load level, forming the electric network reactive power disposition scheme through calculating and analyzing whether the reactive power disposition rational or not in Baotou, if the additional reactive power capacity need to be increased and their concrete disposition capacity and place. Implement this scheme, the electric network can be guaranteed to run at a peaceful and steady situation. At the same time, it will produce the considerable economic benefits. And it can also guide the development plan of the electric network in this area.
