In our country, with the rapid development of economy and promoting the process of well-off society, power demand is increased year by year. Hydropower resource that is rich was scientificlly developed and ratinally used. Twlve hydropower bases are being built, a situation of multi-reservoir jiont operation is come into being gradually. In addition, with the seperation of plant and network and price bidding, our country electricity market is gradually established. The pricinple and objective function of cascade reservoir optimized operation are changed because of hydroelectric price bidding, that energy maximization not always a only target with cascade reservoirs generation scheduling. So, study on the cascade reservoirs generation optimal operation under power market has important application and academic value.In the paper, optimization model of year-end drawdown level with multi-year regulating storage reservoir and generation scheduling model based on cascade generation benefit maximization were established, methods to solve model that could consider to efficiency and accuracy of computation were studied, witch is combined with electricity market. On the basis, determination contract energy and decomposition monthly of cascade hydropower station, and studying on optimal operation rules of cascade reservoir under power market. The main research results as flowers:(1) Optimal operation model of cascade reservoirs was established under power market. Under power market, objective function of cascade reservoirs power generation optimal dispatching changed, because the scheduling criterion and generation target were changed. Cosidering the differences of the price of wet year, normal flow year and low flow year, the model of cascade reservoirs generation benefit maximization and cascade hydropower station peak regulation capacity benefit maximization were established respectively.(2) Optimization model of year-end drawdown level with multi-year regulating storage reservoir based on cascade generation benefit maximization was established. According to the characteristics of cascade reservoirs optimal operation and residual stage benefit of carryover storage reservoir, optimization model of year-end drawdown level with multi-year regulating storage reservoir was established.(3) The studying of medel's solution method. Loking for the medel's solution method which was able to consider the precision and efficiency of computation is one of key technologies in the optimal operation. In the paper, aimed at the character and the limitation of differential evolution algorithm, Ant Colony Optimization and Particle swarm optimization, they were improved combined with the problem of cascade reservoir optimized opaeration. And they were applied to the models which were built in the paper. The results of compution showed that the improved algothms had rationality and reliability in the applying to the optimal operation of cascade reservoir through the comparison with the Successive Approximation Methods of Dynammic Programming-Progressive Optimality Algorithm.(4) The determination of annual contract energy and the contract energy decomposition in the momth. The ratio of the contract energy and multi-year average generated energy of cascade power station was determinated through long series generation electrcity simulation calculation of cascade reservoir. And the contract energy was decomposed in the month based on the statistical character of generation energy of cascade power station aimed at the problems of Wujiang cascade power station operation.(5) The generation electricity compensation benefits computation of Cascade power station based on power market. In the paper, in order to fully reflect the power market's pricinple of fair, justice, open, the concept of getting online electrical quantity ratio was proposed, and generation electricity compensation benefits was computed utilization the model of maximum generation benefit in the cascade reservoir, and the sum of cascade power station's generation electricity compensation benefits was got aimed at the problems of Wujiang cascade power station operation.(6) Studying of the rules of cascade reservoir optimized operation based on power market. In order to rationally and effectively use water resources and reduce the effect of uncertaity factors, the water level frequency in the end of month was computed through long series generation electrcity simulation calculation of cascade reservoir and based on the statistical analysis of water level in the end month. The water level controlling rules was made in the end of month based on the frequency of runoff. And the rules have had a certain reference value to the pratical operation and short operation of cascade reservoir.
