With gradual implementation of national strategy for power transmission from west to east, there will be a large number of east-west transmission lines with extra-high voltage, high capacity and long-distance. Studying at home and abroad indicate that geomagnetically induced currents (GIC) will flow into power grids when geomagnetic storms occur, which will undoubtedly threaten saft and stable operation of power systems. In order to reduce the impact of magnetic storms on the power grid to ensure the saft and stable operation of the power system, it is necessary to govern GIC of the power grid. This paper combined results of research at home and abroad, researched and analyzed the management measures of GIC on Power Grid and governance optimization according to the mechanism of GIC flowing in the Power Grid, established GIC optimization model on the planning of Northwest 750kV power grid, using non-dominated sorting algorithm II (NSGA-â…¡) optimized governance program, Finally, given the GIC optimization results of Northwest 750kV planning Power Grid.
