Smart grid represents the general research trend of power systems and serves as a comprehensive solution in tackling energy shortage, environmental pollution, climate change, economic and sustainable development challenging human beings. This thesis reviewed the development of smart grid, defined Smart Distribution Grid (SDG) and Self-healing Control (SHC), raised several functional requirements based on the significance of its implementation.Key SHC supporting technologies were initially discussed with SHC theory elaborated, a three-layer SHC frame was built after analysis of current SHC implementation methods.Further, a new scheme featuring operation assessment and fast simulation towards grid self-healing was first put forward and studied. At the end of this thesis, new theories and methods like biological immune system, sequential gaming, intelligent multi-agent and hybrid control system were deployed to power systems self-healing application. This indeed blazes a new trail in smart grid self-healing as well as sheds light on China's unified smart grid construction and its futuristic research.
