Since 1960s, the reinforced earth technique had been widely used , and a lot ofScholars have been studied on reinforced earth engineering and mechanicalproperties of reinforced earth extensively and profoundly, while lots of problemsshould be further studied in mechanism of reinforced earth and analysis ofdeformation in different reinforced earth engineering due to the complexity ofreinforced earth technique and the limitation of research means. In recent years,Changjiang Scientific Research Institute has established CT-Workstation for rock andsoil tests, the most outstanding advantages of CT technology is that it can measure theinternal structure's variation process of geotechnical materials dynamically,quantitative and real-time without damage, therefore it gives a new method to studyreinforced earth. According to those above, the paper conducts a series of triaxial testsof reinforced earth and model loading tests of reinforced foundation systematicallybased on CT-Visualization.Aseries of triaxial tests of reinforced earth and model loading tests of reinforcedfoundation have been conducted with CT technology and then preliminary analysiswas done based on the tests results. According to the triaxial tests of reinforced earthand model loading tests of reinforced foundation, the mechanism of reinforced earthwas analysis through observing deformation of reinforced materials, strength ofreinforced earth and the variations of reinforced foundation bearing capacity. Thetheory in this paper is preliminary study, and the paper prospect further study in thisfields.The main contents of this paper include:(1) This paper presents a systematic retrospect of development in reinforcedearth, gives the achievements of theoretical research and experimental study inreinforced, and introduces the basic principles of CT and application of CT onstudying geotechnical engineering.(2) According to triaxial tests of reinforced earth in different reinforced layers and confining pressure, the paper compares the curves of stress-strain under differentconditions, analysis different failure types of reinforced earth triaxial samples andcompares deformation constraint of reinforced earth triaxial samples by reinforcedmaterials under different test conditions.(3) Design model loading tests of reinforced foundation based on CT technology.By changing reinforced materials, reinforced layer and overburden pressure, the paperanalysis the results of tests, studies on properties of reinforced foundation, discussesthe action between reinforced materials and filling oil, and then deeply analyzes itsreinforcement mechanism.All of those would be beneficial to the furthermore study.
