| With the development of our country urbanization, the existing city road resource can not meet the rapid growth demand of the private cars. Therefore this conflict causes a series of social problems, such as traffic congestion, traffic accident and air pollution. To solve this conflict, we should give priority to develop the public transit in order to attract more passengers travel by public transit.However, most cities in our country have a low share of public transit due to its inefficient service and the passengers have a limited access to public transit information. So it is necessary to enhance the information service quality of transit to attract more passengers. Based on this kind of purpose, a stated preference investigation of urban transit information demand was implemented in Dalian. It examined the needs of travel information by the urban transit passengers and then proposed some targeted improvement measures.This thesis studied the transit information choice behavior of passengers from two aspects. Firstly, what factors affect the information choice behavior of transit passengers? Secondly, what factors affect the information service media choice behavior of transit passengers? With the progress of statistical analysis, the factors which affected the information choice behavior of the passengers had been discussed. And then, the 14 kinds of travel information were categorized into 4 groups by factor analysis. The 4 groups were public transit timetable information, urban road traffic condition information, urban oriented map information and entertainment information. At last, the Binary Logistic model of information choice behavior was proposed to analyze the details of information choice behavior. The results indicated that there were different information choice behaviors among transit passengers, according to personal characteristics and information service features. The different contents of information had a significant influence on the choice behavior of travel information, and the occupation of passengers had a significant influence on the choice behavior of information service media.The thesis provides a reference for the construction of the public transit information service system. Urban transit manager can provide the passengers with comprehensive transit information by differentiating the passengers'characters and constructing the rational public transit information service system. These measures can promote the rational allocation of urban transit resources. Furthermore, they also can enhance the operation efficiency and service quality of public transit system. |
