ABSTRACT:Nowadays, rail transportation and production is gradually changed from extensive mode to refined mode. How to tap the further potential of transport capability and increase railway income, turns to be an important part of railway production management. Ticket assignment optimization, train capability utilization is not only the core of railway passenger management, but also is the main way to tap the potential efficiency gains for railway passenger sections.First of all, a new Ticket Management process based on revenue management was presented after the analysis of current situation, that ticket assignment should be conducted from two perspectives:the single-train and related multi-trains, depending on different situations, and during the pre-sale period dynamic adjustment is also included.Secondly, the Radial Basis Function neural network method was chosen for the short-term passenger flow forecasting in this paper. Based on the forecasting results classified by O-Ds and seat-types, a single-trip ticket assignment model was established with the objection of full passenger load rate maximization, and the expansion form of the model is conducted either, given the setting method of restricted beyond station. A dynamic adjustment strategy during the ticket pre-sale period is also raised, according to the changing demand of the passenger flow.Thirdly, In view of the paradox of the seat tickets tension and resource waste phenomenon coexisting in different lines and stations, a ticket assignment optimization model and solution algorithm for relevant multi-trains was established to guide the rational distribution of passenger flow of the same direction in different trains, to achieve the overall capacity utilization for relevant multi-trains.Finally, a ticket management prototype system was designed and developed to vote a validation of the model and research above.The empirical results showed that the research was feasible on the existing ticket assignment method and voted a certain amount of improvement.
