Railway transportation is the artery of national economy, and the safety of the railway transportation is the priority. It is a complex engineering system to guarantee the railway safety, while the rescue at railway traffic accidents is a sub-system, which plays a very important role in the safe run of railway. The railway crane is a kind of important equipment used in rescue operations at railway traffic accidents to ensure the smooth development of the national economy. It plays a decisive role in such railway rescue work as the treatment, lifting up overturned vehicles, eliminating the circuitry obstacles and shortening the time of railway traffic disruption in the rescue operations. The 160T railway crane telescopic booms in China is the largest railway standard gauge used tonnage railway crane. It is the first type of domestic hydraulic machine to adopt double transmission diesel engines, with greater reliability, which is especially useful for rescue work. With its reasonable design, it is quite reliable and flexible. It also has advanced economic indices as well as a short pre-running time. It is easy to operate and maintain.Based on the modeling, assembling, simulation and software system design, database design, a visual simulation of the 160T railway crane rescuing vehicles in accidents with the help of the software ProeWildfire 4.0 is done in this paper. The measurements of each part of the crane is made according to its instruction. The author based his assembly on what is required in the process of putting each part together by fixing and connecting. VB2005.NET in VS2005.NET makes up the design of the software system, while SQLSERVER2005 contributes to database structure design. Finally, comes the visual simulation of the rescue scene through the input of some data. By means of such visually simulating, the author aimed to test the crane's strength in the performances of vehicle calibration, interference and calibration data after the feedback and interactivity etc.An optimal analysis of the rescue scheme, along with a visual simulation of the rescue with the aid of the software ProeWildfire 4.0 greatly improve the accuracy, efficiency and speed of railway rescue work. Besides, the simulated data feedback and practical rescue schemes improve the chance of successful railway rescue work. Rescue technical personnel can carry out the best rescue scheme through this visual simulation. A method of designing optimal rescue scheme is presented in this paper.
