It can be said that natural resources and other factors on the development of resource-based towns and evolution of the space had a profound impact. Wuhai City is located in western Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is a typical resource-based industrial city, Wuhai City as a study in this paper, a case study of urban spatial development at home and abroad through the resource-based urban development particularly in the range of experiences and lessons learned and explore ways to present new political environment, the current economic environment, social environment and technical conditions, that may be encountered in Wuhai future development issues and at this stage could lead to a specific direction, through the urban planning of urban space development entry point of the research to find a Wuhai spatial development and adjustment of the direction and to build the ideal layout of spatial structure of Wuhai.
