Research On The Evolution Mechanism And Optimization Strategy Of Yangquan City Urban Spatial Form

Coal resource-based cities are an important part of resource-based cities in China.However,with the adjustment of the national energy strategy and the depletion of coal resources,the sustainable development of coal resource cities is facing great challenges.How to solve the imbalance of urban spatial structure,optimise urban spatial layout and inject momentum into the dynamic growth of coal resource-based cities is a major chal enge facing the current territorial spatial planning of coal resource-based cities.Yangquan,as a mature coal resource city,has certain typicality and representative ness in coal industry shrinkage,industrial cluster reconstruction,urban transformation and development,and ecological environment restoration.This thesis is based on a literature review,fieldwork,and a study of the spatial evolution of the city.Based on literature,field research and expert interviews,this thesis firstly compares the evolution of Yangquan’s urban spatial form and divides its urban development into five stages,namely,the accumulation and exploration of resources(1949-1983),the accelerated expansion under the market(1983-1993),the rapid expansion after energy development(1993-2000),and the near-area developme nt during stable development.Secondly,with the help of SPSS,GIS and other mathematical and spatial analysis platforms,this thesis quantifies and graphs the intensity,compactness and dynamic attitude of Yangquan’s urban constructio n expansion,and analyses the evolution of urban spatial morphology and spatial structure characteristics.The study finds that there is a correlation and synchronization between the expansion of urban spatial form and the evolution of spatial structure in Yangquan,showing the evolution of urban form from a ribbon structure to a dendritic structure,then to a multinuclear cluster structure,and finally to a monocentric cluster structure;in addition,the analysis of three influencing factors,namely natural environment,social economy and policy planning,explores the dynamic mechanisms affecting the evolution of urban spatial form in Yangquan at different stages.The results of the study show that natural environment factors dominate in the first and second stages of urban development,while social environment and policy planning dominate in the third,fourth and fifth stages of urban development;by synthesising the above analysis and research,we finally propose a strategy for optimising and upgrading urban space in Yangquan,guiding urban spatial agglomeration to construct characteristic urban space,optimising the urban spatial pattern to shape core clusters,moving from a monotype to a diversified and sustainable.By analysing the evolution of urban spatial patterns and exploring the dynamics of the evolution mechanism,this thesis proposes a strategy for optimising the urban space of Yangquan.
