Preliminary Study On Landscape Planning Of New Countryside Of Northern Shaanxi

The landscape planning and design in new countryside is one of the important links for coordinating the relation between the urban and rural area in China at present, and building the harmonious society. In the primary stage of China new socialist countryside construction, the problems and shortages exist in many aspects of rural landscape planning, many fields require us for exploration and study, especially the vast territory, complicated terrain and different social and natural condition in various areas, many different problems are to be solved. Only through the deep understanding of local residents' custom of life, resources, natural geographical environment, economic situation, religious belief, comprehensive study and analysis of these elements, can we put forward the feasible suggestions, effective and proper planning for new countryside construction.Northern Shaanxi, located in the central area of loess plateau, high in northwest area and lower in southeast area, is the typical loess hilly and gully area, which is characterized by the complicated terrain, scattered gullies, long narrow plain and widely distributed ridges. The basic type of landform is the tableland, rise terrain, ridge and gully, covering area of 92521.4 square kilometer.However, construction of new countryside in northern Shaanxi still faces a series of fierce challenges today, such as the vulnerable ecological condition, lack of water resource, destruction of vegetation, serious soil erosion, intensified land desertification, outmoded agricultural production, deterioration of living environment, backward rural economy, poor agricultural basic condition and relatively poor agriculture, etc. Facing such great number of geographical, human and environmental condition limitations, many research outputs fail to exert the desired effect or play the little effect during application. The improvement of life & production environment condition is not so good and construction of new countryside progress slowly. Therefore, acceleration of new countryside construction in northern Shaanxi has been critical to improve the peasant's living standard, promote the rural ecological environment and coordinate the development of economy.The new countryside landscape in northern Shaanxi is analyzed and studied, the idea and the method for the new countryside landscape planning in northern Shaanxi are concluded as well in the paper, which will be the example and guideline for new countryside construction in northern Shaanxi. In addition, it will be favorable for protecting the unique cave dwelling settlement and culture in northern Shaanxi loess plateau area, maintaining local particular natural & geography and land feature, and keeping the stability of unique landscape ecology in northern Shaanxi loess plateau.The related scholar's research outputs on countryside landscape have been looked up, the practical experience and the theoretical method for countryside planning both at home and abroad have been drawn upon during the initial stage of paper preparation. Through the deep field investigation of current situation on countryside landscape in northern Shaanxi, the landscape planning method system that is suitable for northern Shaanxi has been concluded. Firstly, the concept of landscape, countryside landscape and hilly area settlement is summarized, and then the concept of countryside landscape in northern Shaanxi is concluded, finally, the major characters and unique regional culture of northern Shaanxi countryside landscape are concluded through the deep investigation and analysis of traditional countryside settlement landscape in northern Shaanxi. According to the characters and current situation of countryside settlement landscape in northern Shaanxi area, the nature of village in northern Shaanxi is positioned. Furthermore, the theory for sustainable development, landscape ecology and scenic garden planning as well as state laws and policies are applied to put forward the planning principle at last, and conclude the detailed thought and the method regarding the overall planning, new cave residence, infrastructure construction and greening landscape in the countryside of northern Shaanxi. Finally, through the analysis of some typical cases for new countryside construction in northern Shaanxi, the combination of theory and practice is used for analyzing the detailed method of landscape planning, so as to examine the correctness and feasibility of theory.
