Flange connection is a way of tubular structure. Currently in China, flange connection has been used in a variety of tower structurs, especially in long-span steel tower, but the research on flange-plate is Lagging behind, so it is necessary to carried out the research on the flange-connection.This thesis presents the chinese and foreign codes and the domestic and abroad research on flange-plate connection, summarizes the existing research data and results, research the flange-plate connection comprehensivly and systematicly. The research includes:Combining the experiment, established the geometry models with ANSYS, and contrast the finite element results and the experimental results.Basised on the four basic types for flange-plate connection: rectangular-ture rigid flange joints; rectangular-ture flexible flange joints; circular-ture rigid flange joints; circular-ture flexible flange joints,some models are established.The models include following parameters:prying forces,the number of bolts,the flange plate thickness,the distance between bolts,the edge distance and the distance from the bolt line to the hollow section face.This thesis carried out the loading capacity of flange connections, analyzed the effects of parameters,the rational distance between bolts and the edge distance and the distance from the bolt line to the hollow section face are given. This thesis point out the design problems of the circular-ture flange joints and put forward some design proposals. According to the analysis, this thesis also presents amendments and recommendations of the Standard formulas and methods.
