We used a runner blade as an optimal design object. We used the shape parameters of Hydro machine blade as optimization variable, and used energy and cavitation performance as objective function, and finally realized the multi-objective optimization of blade by NSGA-â…¡algorithm and a multi-objective optimization algorithm NCGA. The whole process of this optimization method is completed by a computer, and hence greatly improves the efficiency of design works.In the parametric implementation, with the Bezier curves are used to control the blade profile bones, And then the guide vane is added to the flow path of the initial blade, ensure actual flows to stream of the Runner. In the optimization process, the control point of the bones are modified to change the shape, and then modify the shape of the runner blade, ultimately,get a set of optimization results, most efficiency was improved significantly.For the efficiency of the objective function, the efficiency of an optimized runner is better than the original runner. But the high efficiency area moves to a smaller guide vane opening. it can be found that the minimal pressure on the blade has been increased, and the load performance at the blade leading edge has been improved too.
