In recent years, The proportion of cable use is increasing rapidly. However, considering the Railway Continuous Power Lines(CPL) bear small load, and the capacitance characteristic cables may not only influence the normal operation of the electrical equipments, but also the safety and reliability of the high-speed railway because of the high terminal voltage. Thus, it has pracitcal importance significance to study the CPL voltage of head and terminal end and reactive power compensation.In this paper, the PSCAD/EMTDC cable model is established based on the analysis of cable structure and parameters, and then the voltage regulator and calble mathematic model are analyzed. According to the factors which may effect the CPL voltage and under the conditions of combination of different conditions, the results of the theoretical calculations and PSCAD/EMTDC simulation of a 10 to 120 kilomieters long CPL are very approximate,the corretness of the model is be verified. The qualitative analysis of cable length, system impedance,Voltage Regulator impedance and cable types to influence the CPL head and terminal end voltage, the simulation results show that the voltage increases with the increasing of above aspects. Finally, in the case of fixing system impetance and Voltage Relator type, through to the instance simulation of different types of cable based on Matlab, a relatively accurate relation formula of CPL voltage and calble length is achieved.The common method of cable line capacitive reactive power compensation is parallel connective reactor compensation. In this paper,the infulunce of volatage distribution is analyzed to parallel connective reactor compensation. In order to guarantee a better voltage quality, on the analysis of comparing centralized compensation and dispersion compensation ,the later compensation is more appropriate.In this paper, the high-speed railway CPL models are established and then simulated with the electric power system simulation component library of PSCAD/EMTDC. The mathematic models are calculated under the Matlab platform with its advantages of computation and numerical calculation. The theoretical calculation and simulation results demonstrate the terminal end voltage fomula of CPL and the compensation solution which proposed in this paper are correct and feasible.
