| Northern Shanxi area is located in the northern Shanxi Province,experienced for many years,created some distinctive and time settlement patterns and showed the unique localiaztion and timeliness.In article, the object of study—settlements,are a kind of social community which are formed from the related production and the life activity. Based on the historical geography of traditional settlements ,as Ming dynasty,Qing dynasty and Rise of modern three historical periods as the research content time vein, the article lasts for 581 years,which spans feudal society and the semicolonial and semifeudal society. In the northern Shanxi area, most of the existing settlements belong to the three time periods,which are full of meat and examples. From the traditional layout and building of settlements and other settlement patterns of the formation and evolution researchings found that: due to different historical periods of political, economic, cultural and ideological changes,these caused the major function and the mainstream construction ideology of settlements to have the fundamental change, leading to their regional changes in settlement patterns.In Ming Dynasty of the northern Shanxi area, there are many wars and ethnic conflicts.Fntier of military defense in Ming-nation, built a numble of Wei,Suo and Forts,which formed specific cultural, geographical and historical architectural complex—the military settlement patterns in the northern Shanxi area. The peaceful reunification of the northern Shanxi Province in Qing Dynasty,with commerce and trade to flourish in towns, formed a mainstream of economic development of commercial settlements;with the countryside and people's happiness, formed a mainstream of daily life of rural residential settlements.With developing slowly, tangled warfare of warlords in Rise of Modern in the northern Shanxi province, there have been Chinese and Western architectures to create the mainstream ideology of town settlements; residential construction of rural settlements basically different geographical delineation of the northern Shanxi residential patterns.It is time that quantity of existing residences were the most large in the northern Shanxi area.As a richly cultural province of Shanxi,the development disproportionality has seriously restricted the development and research works about local tradition settlements in the northern Shanxi area.Main findings are found to be as a demonstration compared with arguments of regional settlements in the middle of Shanxi and the southern Shanxi.So far,from scholars of architectural design,architectural historian and urban planning, studies of rural and town settlements are still very limited in the northern Shanxi Province.Causing evolution and development about the shape of settlements by the time change, the direct source material and the correlation data are much little. In short, researches about settlements in the Northern Shanxi still occupied the initial stage.This article ,from Ming Dynasty to rise of modern,says the main function and the mainstream forms of evolution about settlements in the northern Shanxi province.Through investigation and research,carrying out a systematic induction,writer put forward to some insights to make up above-mentioned shortcomings in her own way.Divided into periods,this paper studies settlements of the northern Shanxi province ,which is only example at domestic.The research could fill some blanks on mainstream architectural shapes for traditional settlemens and greatly enriched the culture and architectural theory in the northern Shanxi province. For additional architectural history,heritage conservation and promotion of traditional architecture,this paper has the vital significance,which put role on promoting sustainable development for traditional settlements of the northern Shanxi area and has some significances as a reference for establishment and development of modern architecture design and the construction theory. |
