The Promotion Of Cultural Affairs And The Repair Of Military Preparation——Study On The Conservation And Revitalization Design Of Linqing Buddhist Relics Pagoda Of The Grand Canal Cultural

With Daiyue Mountain rising east and Taihang Mountain directing west and scenic gathering in the middle,Linqing Buddhist Relics Pagoda lies in the confluence of two rivers and two mountains in Zhangwei,which is the support point for all three.Both as one of Linqing’s "Four Famous Canal Towers" and an essential part of the Grand Canal’s history,science,culture,and art,it is a national key cultural relic preservation unit and a must-see attraction for tourists.A lack of research on Buddhist Relics Pagoda protection and rejuvenation has resulted in the majority of studies focusing on historical proof,value interpretation,and survey and repair.As a result,the pagoda is at risk of flooding,poor environmental conditions,weak interpretation of values,lack of cultural exhibition and the tower has weak contact with the city,which necessitates urgent protection and revitalization efforts.Firstly,field surveys,oral history interviews and architectural mapping were adopted to investigate and record the Relic Pagoda in depth on the basis of the supervisor’s project "Shandong Social Science Planning Research Project-Research on the Architecture and Cultural Elements of the Town Houses in Shandong Section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal",and a basic data base was formed.Secondly,we have been studying its cultural elements.Furthermore,we have analyzed and refined the origin and architectural features of the stupa by combing and interpreting relevant local chronicles,historical documents,ancient poems and other materials,and deeply explored its core values and existing problems.Guided by the planning and design concept of Promotion of Cultural Affairs and Repair of Military,on the one hand,we inherit the canal culture and highlight the historical value of the pagoda,on the other hand,we propose the design strategy of manifesting the idea of Promotion of Cultural Affairs and constructing the environment of Repair of Military,and design the canal park with the display,recreation,experience and education of Promotion of Cultural Affairs and the protection of flood and water with Repair of Military.The functional space of the cultural park is designed to prove the feasibility of the planning and design concept and method of Promotion of Cultural Affairs and Repair of Military.The study serves as a useful supplement to the research of the promotion of cultural affairs and the repair of military preparation and the Grand Canal cultural heritage by tracing the origins of Linqing Relics Pagoda,the combing of architectural features and the excavation of cultural values,as well as the design practice of the protection and revitalization of Relics Pagoda.
