The completion status of the main cable configuration of suspension bridge is segmental catenary, but at the free cable status, each main cable configuration of the side bay and main bay is separate catenary. Base on this characteristic, the thesis compiled a programming flow chart for both the completion and free cable status of suspension bridge, and by editing the programs we obtained the computing results of parameters in both the completion and free cable status. To prove the accuracy of the programs, three calculation examples were chosen to verify the results via comparison, two of the them being theoretical ones, and another an actual case i,e, the Pu Li suspension bridge case. When the Pu Li suspension bridge case was analyzed, a whole bridge model was built with a Finite Element Softward—Midas to compute and extract its parameters including the cable configuration, unstressed cable length, the estimated cable saddle deviator and so on. Afterwards, the thesis compared these parameters with the results computed by the programs, and found that the error was within a relatively small range, which vigorously illustrated the feasibility and reliability of our programs.Since the program's accuracy had gained excellent proof, the thesis used it to analyze parameters such as cable configuration, largest cable axial force, cable unstressed length and left and right estimated cable saddle deviator. By changing the actual values of some parameters, the computing values of the subject was thus obtained, then the two series of values were displayed in the coordinates and analyzed for fitting using MATLAB Software. By finding the correlation curve between the two series of values, the interrelationship between the subject and each parameter was determined. The main contents of this study are as follows:①Investigate the computational methods of cable configuration, deduce the parabola linear function and catenary linear function, and introduce straight line cable method and parabola cable method.②According to the characteristics of the completion status and free cable status of suspension bridge, the program flow chart for both statuses was compiled.③Edit a program for the flow chart and verify the program's accuracy via three computational examples, two being theoretical and one actual...the Pu Li suspension bridge case.④Analyze the parameters of the completion status of suspension bridge including cable configuration, largest cable axial force, cable unstressed length. For free cable status, only the left and right estimated cable saddle deviator was analyzed. Find the interrelationship between the subjects and each parameter.This study plays an active role in the further investigation of main cable configuration.
