Supported by project of real bridge and based on the Catenary theory, the calculation model to the whole bridge is set up by the general finite element computational software. To explore the impact of the construction phase tension of hangers on the cable shape and the state structure of the bridge, the reasonable state of the bridge and the construction phase tension of hangers are analysed independently. The mian research contents are as follows:1. This paper summarizes three analysis methods and fundamental formulas of flexible thread unit, reviews the inferential reasoning process of catenary cable element's tangent stiffness matrix in order to provides a theoretical basis for self-anchored suspension bridge analysis.2. Using the pitch line law to simplify the reasonable state of the bridge,getting the horizontal force, unstressed cable length and line.Through catenary line unit tangent stiffness matrix of displacement to do incremental iterative accurate analysis, then use the same principle of non-stress length of main cable to analyze initial construction state and the final stage of construction is carried out with analysis, getting reasonable plan of tension of hangers.3. The different analytical methods on tension of hangers of the cable-stayed bridge, tied arch bridge and self-anchored suspension bridge construction phase are compared. To explore the coherence of the sling tension on the cable force changes and the main cable displacement , respectively establish models and carry through the contrastive analysis on the corresponding displacement and the change of cable force.4. According to the practical method of tension of hangers of self-anchored suspension bridge to confirm the plan of tension of hangers and establish mathematical models to assess the plan.5. Tension of hangers is the key to make sure the bridge condition goes smoothly. Through finite element analysis software Midas/Civil, the cycle iteration analyze method, which is demolition first, and then being loaded, is used in this paper. Programmes on the main cable and tension of hangers of construction process are proposed and compared. To guide the self-anchored suspension bridge's design and construction, the impact of tension of hangers on the shape of the cable, the cable force as well as the tower partial stress is also studied in this paper.
