Evaluation of energy utilization system, there are two methods:energy balance analysis and exergy analysis. Energy balance analysis is to study t the amount of energy that the quantity of energy conversion, transmission, utilization and losses, to determine the energy efficiency of a system or device. Exergy analysis can judge the quality of the difference in energy, that which is of high quality energy, which is low grade energy, as far as possible to achieve the best use of energy, avoid waste of energy.In this paper, simulation is performed with AVL Boost about a middle-speed diesel engine working process. Based on this simulation, the energy utilization is evaluated by the above two methods. The main research work includes:1) The Boost Simulation model can accurately simulate the working process of the diesel engine By adjusting the related parameters. Also we can get thermodynamic parameters changed with crank angle through Boost calculation and prepared for the energy balance calculation and exergy analysis;2) The calculation carried out a detailed analysis of the energy balance calculation and exergy analysis formula and computer program is prepared;3) Boost simulation model used to provide thermodynamic parameters for the energy balance calculation and exergy analysis, heat distribution and exergy distribution with the load variation can be obtained;4)Three combustion-related parameters of the single-Weber function changes on the effect of thermodynamic parameters, heat distribution and exergy distribution is Conducted a preliminary study.
