For security and economic benefits of railway locomotives, in order to to diagnose or predict the existing or potential locomotive failure on-line timely and accurately, and establish cost-effective maintenance system, researching on fault diagnostic apparatus and related technology, has significant technical and practical significance.In this thesis, do some reserch about applications of FPGA/SOPC technology on the old fault diagnostic apparatus. it complete research and design of CAN IP Integrated and GPRS wireless communication in order to improve the system integration. Compared with the old system, the improved system have many advantages such as small size, low power, low cost, high reliability, and good scalability.On the following work completed:1. CAN interface design, the main contents are as follows:(1). Custom IP core-bus conversion bridge design. According to features of AVALON and WISHBONE Bus, a A/W bus conversion bridge IP core is designed based on asynchronous clock FIFO. By the IP-core modeling, simulation and synthesis, the IP core supports functionality as follows:single cycle reading/write mode, peripheral control multi-cycle wait read/write mode, pipelined read/write (AVALON senior transfer mode) transmission.mode.(2).CAN IP-core integration. After understanding the CAN protocol and IP core structure, the soft-core——CAN controller IP core is integrated into SOPC, and its main function of simulation and synthesis are tested in testbench.(3). Software design. the SOPC software architecture is introduced and the CAN driver is designed.2.GPS/GPRS functional design and implementation, the main contents are as follows:(1).
