ABSTRACTThe high-energy load of Wuhai power grid takes up more than 80% of the total load. However, Wuhai power grid reactive power voltage control mainly uses the on-load tap transformers and shunt capacitors to achieve voltage regulation and reactive power balance. Because of the special nature carried by Wuhai power grid load, the current method is of high labor intensity. It is hard for the operating person to achieve high precise control and real-time multi-process control. Sometimes, because the operating person to monitor is not in place, over voltage caused damage to the equipment. These incidents not only caused considerable economic losses, but also seriously threaten the safe and stable operation of Wuhai power grid.This paper analyzes the actual situation of the existing disadvantages of reactive power compensation and voltage regulation of Wuhai power grid and analyses the principle of reactive power optimization of the whole network in principle. Thus, the author introduced software TOP3000 to achieve the optimization of the whole network reactive power and voltage control of Wuhai power grid, to improve the voltage qualification rate and to reduce network losses. Finally, the author drew conclusions and made a comprehensive analysis.
