With many advantages such as green and non-polluting, Li-ion has a great development and widespread use on a large number of applications such as mobile phones, cameras, laptops and other portable appliances. In order to comply with the development of lithium-ion battery industry, we need to design and develop a sort of discharge equipment to monitor and control the process of Lithium-ion battery discharge. However, there are some defects on the current similar devices, so we design and develop a Lithium-ion discharge control apparatus based on Fuzzy-PID controller, which choice ATmegal128 MCU as CPU and OZ890 as power management chip.Firstly, this article introduces the relevant knowledge of the principles of PID, common improved PID algorithms and tuning methods. After that, a detailed analysis of system under the PID controller is given, and we ponit out the advantages and shortcomings in this case.Secondly, this article introduces some basic knowledge about Fuzzy controller. According to the advantages and disadvantages of PID controller and Fuzzy controller,we decide to choice Fuzzy-PID controller which is combined with Fuzzy controller and PID controller, and describe the detail design of Fuzzy controller. Because there are some limitations when we adaptive Fuzzy controller's scale factor using some optimization strategies such as genetic algorithms, this paper presents a simple, convenient method to adjust the scale factor, which is suitable for small systems such as SCM system.Finally, this article analysis the performance of system, the result indicates that the system has better transient and static performance. Then this paper describes hardware design part and software design part of the system. At the end of this paper we point out the shortcomings of this system, and what we shall do for the next step.
