Electric-driven Automated Mechanical Transmission with electronic technology and automatic control theory is an automatic control system based on a traditional fixed-axis transmission and a dry clutch. Electronic control unit is the core. It controls the Clutch actions and the shift operations. The control system of electric-driven Automated Mechanical Transmission (AMT) designed based on the comparison of hydraulic AMT, pneumatic AMT and electric-driven AMT.AMT control system includes sensors, controllers and actuators. Sensors include speed sensors and position sensors. The engine and vehicle speed measurement use electromagnetic speed sensors. The transmission input shaft speed measurement use a Hall-type speed sensor. The clutch position sensor use a linear motion sensor, and to measure shift gears position use two angle sensors. The Control unit with a 32-bit ARM chip and a CPLD, the ARM is mainly used to collect the position signals and realize the complex control strategy. The CPLD collects the speed data from the engine, the vehicle and the transmission input shaft, and then transfers them to the AMR-chip. All actuators are electric driven. Operating Clutch and Meshing gears use DC motors and selecting gears use two electromagnets. The Starting of vehicle and shift gears is the two key technologies of electric-driven AMT, so the performance of ATM depends on the clutch control strategies and shift strategies. Control strategy on the clutch action and shift gears were analyzed in this paper. Particularly, the power and economy mode Shift schedule are calculatedThe results of experiments indicated that the sensor signal accuracy, the speed of control unit and the actuators meet the design requirements, control strategy is reasonable.
