The control technique of automated mechanical transmission (AMT) and the automatic cruise control technique are both important parts of intelligent vehicles, and they are one of the core technique problems that need to be solved in the development of intelligent vehicles at home now. This paper chooses the complex control system with the development perspective which contains the automatic cruise control and the automated mechanical transmission as the direction for studying, and studies some key and difficulty technique problems in the development of the system.This paper consists of six parts:The paper summarily introduces the main content, status quo and the developing direction of the intelligent vehicles and the advanced control system,and expounds the chief types, the development process and the characteristic of automated transmissions of intelligent vehicles, and states the advance and the development tendency of the AMT at home and abroad, especially the technique problems of the AMT that need to be solved at home now; and introduces automatic cruise control technique and its application. The background of the direction for studying in this paper, the source of the subject, the main research content of the paper and the significance of studying are introduced.The paper expounds the basic functions and the design requests of the AMT control system which is developed by the author, and introduces the structure, the main component parts and the basic principle of this system. The design ideas and research fruits are expounded aim at the design of the AMT control system which include: the design of the ECU, the design of the hydraulic pressure source, the design of the clutch control unit, the shift and the throttle control units, the design of removing the interference in the AMT control system, the design of the fault diagnosis and the fault tolerant control of the AMT control system. The hardware system of the AMT which developed by author and owns the autonomous intellectual property and convenient to be made at home has been equipped in a Santana 2000 car. The hardware system has been running for more than four years at present, and the vehicle has been running to one hundred thousand kilometer under the conditions of different road conditions. The test result shows that the hardware system not only meets requirement of the whole control system, but also has the high reliability.The paper expounds the basic ideas and the important theory knowledge of the fuzzy control and the human-simulated intelligent control, analyses their characteristics and range of use, summarizes the design content and method of the fuzzy control system and the human-simulated intelligent control system. Aim at the disadvantages of the fuzzy control, the paper combines human-simulated intelligent control technique with fuzzy control technique, and presents a kind of human-simulated intelligent fuzzy controller, and presents the structure of the controller and the control algorithm. The simulating analysis and the application show that the design of the human-simulated intelligent fuzzy controller does not need the accurate mathematical model of the controlled objective, and it is very easy to realize, and the effect of real time control is good. Its advantages include that the speed of response is fast, and the overshoot is small, and the robust stability is good.The control problem of the electronic-hydraulic throttle actuator which developed by author is studied in this paper. It expounds the difficulty problems of the control technique of the controlled objective, and introduces the control system structure of the electronic-hydraulic throttle actuator, and presents the human-simulated intelligent controller based on multi-model, and sets forth the structure of controller and the control algorithm and test results.
