Digital borehole camera technique is intelligent technology which is developed in the 1990's.It is through digital processing for drilling hole wall, to Make up the deficiency of other exploration methods and field survey. It represents the development direction of modern technology. This paper expounds the application of digital borehole camera technique to Jiaozhou bay marine tunnel engineering on the basis of the discusse systematically for digital borehole camera technique,in combination with the engineering practice, and achieves satisfactory results.First of all, the prediction of digital borehole camera system to be introduced briefly; it discussed emphatically the the prediction of digital borehole camera system tomography, and includes panoramic tomography technique,panoramic tomography digital technique and the principle of digital tomography; it expounded the the test process of which the application of digital borehole camera system in engineering practice.Secondly, the paper summarizes principles and methods of digital borehole image acquisition, analyzes and discusses some existent problems (depth, magnetic declination, color cast and so on) in image acquisition process, then puts forward amendments. For borehole image articulation question, image enhancement technology, and For image boundary recognition, by repetitious try and effect comparison of edge detection and shape processing, the optimum combination of operator or method can be confirmed, which can solve the recognition of structural plane and rock mass boundary in borehole image well, to satisfy specific project and research requirement.Finally,the paper briefly introduces several methods of the evaluation for engineering rock mass, and expounds the application of the evaluation for engineering rock mass. On a basis of borehole image which has been digitally processed, geological information (fault, joint, interlayer, dike, integrity and fracture and so on) can be extracted from borehole image and further rock mass integrity is able to be described and analyzed. By statistics and induction to discrete geology data, rock mss integrity index density function (DIDF) can be presented and established, on a basis of which, rock mass integrity index (RMDI) and rock mass integrity fractal amount (RMIFA) can be presented and established, thus evaluating rock mass integrity, in combination with Jiaozhou bay marine tunnel engineering practice, Using digital cameras of tunnel drilling technology aquifer tectonic grouting effect were observed. To evaluate integrality,achieved the desired effect.
