The digital age has come, but there are still some problems in the field of Geotechnical Engineering Data, such as:these data are mainly saved in paper materials, the efficiency of data processing is low and it's difficult to be shared for engineering data. To fulfill digitalization of Geo-Engineering information, the standardisation of record table, high efficiency and simplicity of data aotomatic processing and cross-platform application of data must be resolved first. XML has unique advantages in the field of data transformation and transmission which can provide strong technical support to Geo-Engineering data sharing:it can separate format and data while taking up minimal storage space, its versatility consistent with international standard will make XML data be transferred across platforms. Also, the self-description of XML data make it have unique tags in geotechnical engineering, so that these data can be easily applied to different platforms. Based on the realization of the advantages of XML in data processing, some work was done as followed to accomplish this paper:(1) Study and investigate the digitalization of rock mechanics test based on XML. Based on the rock triaxial test method recommended by ISRM and combined with the domestic rock triaxial test specifications, a generic form is produced suitable for standard stored data of triaxia test. By summarizing and comparing the calculating method of theinternal friction angle (?) and cohesion c at home and abroad, the p-q method which has strong adaptability is selected. Using VBA technology and diagram drawing function of Excel, achieve automatic drawing of stress Mohr circle and strength envelope curve, also the automatic matching of (?) and c. On this basis, compile XSD to transform the rock test data file into XML format with the support of Excel to XML.(2) Research on information digitalization of slope stability program LOSSAP based on XML.Call the Document Object Model (DOM) using VBA to realize storage and retrieval of XML format data file about slice information, slope geometry information and load information in LOSSAP program. With XSLT language, transform the XML data of Slope stability analysis into other displayed format, such as HTML, Excel.Propose simplified Bishop method to calculate active earth pressure which is roled mid-point for the retaining wall using flexible support. Call XML data file generated in LOSSAP to program the above method. The above work helps the efficient digital storage for the data of LOSSAP program and data transmission between programs, and more ever, verify the importance of XML technology in digitization of information in LOSSAP program.(3) A scheme of real-time data acquisition system is proposed based on XML technology. Collect on-site grouting data using PDA devices, transmit the data through wireless and store them in a database in the form of binary data files. At the same time, the collected data should be converted into XML format file, so that the data could be transformed into other expression forms using XSLT language. Then the data could be authenticity and confidentiality stored by using fingerprint identification system and electronic signature technology. The establishment of acquisition system scheme can guarantee the digital storage and reading of grouting data, facilitate the grouting data, and finally implement real-time guidance and supervision of project.
