This paper takes Fujian UHVDC and UHVAC as an example to discuss the reactive power configuration, reactive power control, voltage stability and reactive power coordination of UHVDC and UHVAC. Firstly, a model of Wudongde-Quanzhou UHVDC is built in PSCAD and BPA according to Fujian 2020 planning data. Then the paper analyzes reactive power configuration of inverter, determines reactive power configuration scheme and proposes a switching filters control method. After analyzing static and dynamic voltage stability of inverter bus, author proposes a static voltage stability calculation method according VSI index. Finally a method which uses QPC to regulate reactive power and voltage stability for UHVAC system is proposed and the effectiveness of QPC method is verifed through PSCAD simulation.
