| As a natural building's materials, timber provides a link between humanbeing and nature.In this thesis, the attention of the timber building's point of view focused on architectural expressions and contemporary applications, the timber characteristics, structural characteristics, technological development and innovation, organizational methods of materials as a starting point, probe into timber materials and construction forms relations, and the point and method of timber building's multi-point expressions. Through the research of timber building, found new ideas of timber-structure's expressions between all levels, including materials expression, structural expression, conformation and cultural expression.By selecting representative works of contemporary timber building in this thesis, classification-based case studies, mainly involving these major aspects, including the use of material combinations, surface interface expression, structural expression, conformation node connections, local culture heritage, ecological sustainable design and natural organic expression. From the analysis of the basic technical issues of timber building's design, to discuss the method of how to develop timber building's expressive force.Finally, the thesis expect the using of composite timber materials's technology for space and structures to promote innovation, and through the special historical significance of timber building in China, analyzes the application policy of how to develop China's contemporary timber-structure building and the creative thinking of re-application revelation of timber building after Wenchuan earthquake and Shanghai World Expo. |
