In the recent decades, RCC DAMS technology had rapid development because it has many advantages.There are unavoidable appear many different degree temperature crack in many projects. Because the complexity of arch dam stress state and inhomogeneity of RCC material, it is difficult to determine what section first crack Under the action of dam in temperature stress cracking. So The RCC arch dam both at home and abroad which has been completed has setting induced craek to control the dam cracking. The paper analyses the harmfulness of the dam crack produced by temperature stress and the importance of crack control, discuss various measures to solve the temperature stress and their respective advantages and disadvantages, expounds the superiority and application prospect of the induced craek, then studys the layout forms of the induced craek based on the research status and trend of induced craek.Combined with an engineering project, this paper mainly study on the layout forms of the RCC arch dam induced craek. The 3-D finite model of arch dam without induced craek were built and stress analysis and cracks calculation was carried out on run-time.According to the calculation results and the induced craek setting principles, builts the model of arch dam with induced craek of different position and different weakening degree, then carries out static calculation and equivalent stress calculation on this question that concentration of stressthe abutment and foundation transition. Contrasted stress distribution of dam structure with several common induced craek layout form. Put forward the reasonable layout form of induced craek. Provided a reference basis for the engineering design.Finally, the following conclusions can be drawn through calculation and analysis: because of the temperature drop and the bedrock constraint function, in the dam abutment and heel earliest appear cracks, then cracks along the direction of the dam body thickness and height outspread. Induced craek make the tensile stress of arch to get partial release because it don't tensile. Calculation results show that induced craek influence larger to dam stress nearby the induced craek, less to dam stress another location.Induced craek set in the top and bottom of the dam that tensile stress is large can effectively eliminate the tensile stress, its function is clear. But in scope of 1/6-1/3, the release of stress and stress distribution less by induced craek with different weakening degree, So choose reasonable layout form of induced craek to solve the RCC arch dam temperature cracks is an effective way.
