As one of the main types of construction machinery, hydraulic excavator is widely used in earthwork construction and mine exploitation, such as housing construction, road construction, water conservancy construction, port construction, national defense projects and so on. As the direct implementation to complete working, excavator working device's performance is directly reflected by reasonable structure and flexible reliable and durable working process. Therefore, the study of excavator working device has a very essential significance.In this paper, a large hydraulic excavator's working device is researched, which bucket capacity is 15 cubic meters and is the largest hydraulic excavator being independent researched and developed by domestic excavator manufacturer currently. There is no ready-made case and the research methods of working device is uncertainty, so before the large excavator working device being designed, taking 6 tons small excavator as research object, whose working device's static analysis, dynamic analysis and fatigue analysis is calculated by MSC.Nastran and MSC.Fatigue finite element analysis software. In comparison with the strength testing results, which obtained from strain gauges in corresponding positions and calculation results, the FEA results are verified as the reference in designing large hydraulic excavator working device. A specific course of the study is as follows:(1) Kinematics, dynamics of excavator working device is researched and calculation of working device's hinge pin-point, digging force is studied by the assur groups method, all are in order to lay the theoretical foundation for the follow-up study.(2) By taking excavator working device which weights 6 tons as the research object, the actual working pressures and displacements process of each hydraulic cylinder which will be used as experimental basis for static analysis, dynamic analysis and fatigue analysis are measured with pressure and displacement sensors. In static analysis, the strength testing results which obtained from strain gauges in corresponding positions are compared with calculation results and then the FEA results are verified. The methods of studying strength, stiffness and fatigue life of excavator working device are found with above analysis.(3) The methods of studying of small working device are used in researching large excavator working device to find working device's strength, stiffness and fatigue life counter with static analysis and fatigue analysis. All research results are provided a basis for modifying designs in the future.
