The face-shovel hydraulic excavator is the main kind of engineering mechanics. It is used widely to construct the earthwork and excavate the ore in architecture, road engineering, water conservancy, agriculture exploitation, port building, national defence, etc. The manipulator of face-shovel hydraulic excavator, which is an important part, affects directly the working performance and the reliability of the hydraulic excavator. By the finite element method, we can get the stress and the deformation of the structural parts quickly and relatively accurately. This paper does the finite element analysis for the manipulator of face-shovel hydraulic excavator in certain company, The research work is given as follows:(1) First because it is convenient to model for Pro / Engineer software, The model of boom,bucket,arm and four fuel tank is modeled in Pro / Engineer software, then assembled together (and to ensure that it is the seamless connection between ).the model is imported into ANSYS, given unit properties,material properties and then griding. The working device finite element model is established.(2) On the basis of the test, mathematical model of the device is established and make sure of the resistance of the device, it is important for analysis.(3) Choose the gesture of the device for modal analysis, which is the greatest of resistance in test condition. From the result of modal analysis, wo can see that deformation of bucket is the relatively large, so its stiffness is lower. Then carried out static and dynamic analysis of the device, compared the different of result between static and dynamic analysis, which is influence to design The face-shovel hydraulic excavator. Finally compared the different of result between dynamic analysis and test, Verify the reliability of finite element analysis.The research results of the paper provide the foundation for improving the excavator's design and increasing the excavator's stability.
