With the increasing environmental pollution and energy crisis, every country in the world began vigorously promoting electric bicycles and electric vehicles, electric bicycle with its unique advantages in a wide range of applications, but during the process of use electric bicycles , the shortcomings are gradually exposing, the electric bicycle is equipped with a short lead-acid battery life span. The reason is that, in the past ,during the process of charging the battery, improper methods, easy to cause the battery not fully charged or over charged, which is bad for the battery life span. So designed a high degree of intelligence charger to solve the Lead-acid batteries'problems.The design of charger including two parts, hardware design and software design. AT89S52 is the core control component in hardware part, on this basis,design the corresponding peripheral circuits. When the charger working, the sample circuit in peripheral circuit samples the ead-acid battery status information firstly, then the analog signal sampled by A / D converter into digital signal convey to the MCU, MCU in according to the collected data to determine which charge mode should be adopted to charge the battery. Then charging circuit begin to work, 220V AC power step-down by the RC circuit and the output switching power supply the required DC power to charge the lead acid batteries , during the charge process, the sample circuit continue to work, real-time sampling the lead-acid battery status informations, as well as convey to the MCU by A / D conversion, MCU according to the state of battery adjust charge pulse duty cycle in a timely manner, the charge pulse duty cycle controled by MCU control the RC timing circuits in switching power supply to achieve. If the charging process fails, then to start the alarm device of the display unit; otherwise , the charge go on wheels, when detect the battery voltage exceeds 40V, the green LED of the display unit light, indicating the battery is full charge, you can consider to stop charging, then the power stop charging automatically.The part of software design, using the C language as the programming language, design procedures for data acquisition system, charge control system and anti-jamming system . to make them more effective controlling the hardware circuit. Finally, according to the design of the charger, carry on the system test, find out the system problems and further prospect of intelligent charger. This design of intelligent charger, using a new type of charge method which combinate the commen charging and fast charging method, overcome the defects of conventional charging and fast charging. The hardware system has independent function, through the commissioning test, the system is not lose its legitimacy and effectiveness, although there are some theoretical design error. You can consider to use it after modify the existing problems.
