Road roughness is a key performance index to measure the road riding quality, A good road can provide with speediness, safety, comfort and economy, and it can also reduce the damage of road, improve road performance and extend the pavement life. On the contrary, what the roughness road can do is bring the coupling vibration, which makes the road tired and damaged. Therefore, the analysis of coupling vibration caused by vehicles and road roughness in the software of multi-body dynamics is essential.According to the actual measurement result of highway roughness, we can get the value of wavelength and amplitude of the road, then the road file is created to simulate wave road in ADAMS; regarding the existing Hongyan heavy truck as a research object, the vehicle model including its frame, suspension and cab, etc is built in ADAMS. By the simulation of the vehicle model, the relations of the vehicle dynamic loads and the road roughness are shown on different roads with different velocity and loads. And more, the methods to reduce the dynamic loads of wheel are proposed. Meanwhile, the vehicle parameters which affect the vehicle dynamic loads should be taken into account, and the suspension parameters (stiffness, damping) were optimized to ultimately reduce the damage of the road.The vehicle model provides possibility for more accurate compute and it can simulate the dynamic vehicle loads of real vehicles on wave road. Through the simulation of the vehicle model, the following conclusions are received: the vehicle dynamic loads are affected by the roughness road badly, and the dynamic loads are in direct proportional to the wavelength and amplitude of the road; velocity is an important factor in the coupling vibration, the dynamic loads are related to the coupling between the different rods and velocity; the destructiveness of vehicle load is very large, and the max dynamic load increases by 76.02% with full load; whether the suspension parameters(stiffness, damping) match reasonably are directly having an effect on the vehicle dynamic loads, and the vehicle dynamic loads get smaller rather obviously by optimization .
