The wind energy industry as the green energy provider has been the new energy industry that develops fastest. Wind power has become one of the most technologically sophisticated, most large-scale effect and prospects for development of commercial power generation modes in the new energy resources. With the high-speed growth of the installed capacity of the wind turbines, the capacity per unit of wind turbines has increasing. At present, wind turbines for more than MW have applied the pitch-regulated control technology.Through a comprehensive understanding of the operation principle of the wind turbine system, a SVM (support vector machine) -based model control system is designed to control the pitch effectively on the basis of traditional pitch-regulated control technology. By making the actual data of the wind generator unit collected at the wind farm as the training data, the dependency between the pitch control system input-output carries regression estimate. According to the relationship between the input and output after the regression estimation, prediction of the pitch angle output should be made as exactly as possible. Then the simulation, analysis and test of the pitch-regulated control system can be made through the predicting control model and operational data. Compared with the history data, the actual application feasibility of the control system is verified. The simulation results show that it is workable for the SVM-based model to control the pitch angle, and the control results are better than those which are obtained by traditional strategy.
