Compared with other types of pumps the advantages of internal gear pumps are: compact structures, smaller dimensions, lighter weight, lower noise level and easy to reach higher pressure. Its application can not be replaced by other pumps on some special occasion. It can be said that internal gear pumps have extensive prospects of developments.The floating plate, which has great impact on pump's service life and volumetric efficiency, is one of the most important components of internal gear pump. There are two applied forces acting on floating plate, one from the outlet port formed by the pinion, inner gear and filling piece, the other from the back-pressure cavity of floating plate. The purpose of the floating plate is to compensate the leaking of the gear's side surface. Floating plate can also eliminate the packeted oil and slow down the pressure-increase speed. In the mean time, it is also required low disturbance level and stable pressure for working properly. It is sheer necessary, accordingly, to analysis and design the buffer slot, pressure per-increasing slot, inlet and outlet port of the pressure-burden chamber.The buffer slot can eliminate the impact and convert the energy of motion into energy of dynamic pressure for per-increasing the oil pressure between the teeth of the gears; the pressure per-increasing slot can give a gradual increasing speed of the pressure to eliminate the impact of the oil; the location of the inlet port of the pressure-burden chamber is designed to contrast to the engaging area of the gear teeth; the location of the inlet port will be designed in this paper to reduce the packeted oil pressure near the root of the tooth. In the mean while deliver the high pressure oil into the pressure burden chamber smoothly; The location and the size of the outlet port of pressure-burden chamber will be designed in the paper to reduce the oil-packeted phenomenon which caused low pressure while the gears part to each other. Meanwhile, the size and shape of the outlet port should also be considered according to the per-decreasing pressure process.Virtually all, the purpose of this paper is to design and optimization the structure and size of the buffer slot, per-increasing pressure slot, inlet port and outlet port of the chamber to gain higher working pressure and volumetric efficiency and minimizing the flow fluctuation and noise for working smoother in the mean time.Three of the models of the structures on the floating board mentioned above are established by CAD or Pro/E and meshed by Gambit. The Boundary Conditions are also established by Gambit. k-e turbulent model are chosen as the viscous model and simulated by Fluent. The data of the fluid influenced by the structures will be gained by the simulation.
